Nokia 7100 Super Nova: Simpe Cell Phone for Simple Users

Another sliding phone is released to the market in January 2009 and it’s called

Nokia 7100 Super Nova

.

I believe Nokia brings

Nokia 7100 Super Nova

to the market for reason to grasp low-end market share that is still growing consistently these days and also to fill the void in the demands of cheap phone.

Well that's because there are many people with no savvy or interest for phone technology who are still looking for a simple but modern look cell phone just to make a call and do text messaging only, which shouldn't be underestimated their existence. That's why Nokia releases this simple cell phone to the market.

  • Bottomline
  • Bottom line, Nokia is well aware when releasing Nokia 7100 Super Nova, this vendor only targets low-end market share. So if you are one of those people who doesn't really care about cell phone technology, this is definitely a good choice. But if you're a gadget lover, this phone is a BIG NO.

Design

It appears simple on the front side, but the main black interface with the blue trimming on the 4 main buttons and D-pad really elevates the whole design of this phone. It looks appealing to grasp because the 240 x 320 pixels screen resolution of Nokia 7100 Super Nova is shrunk into the size of 2.0 inches which makes everything on this phone looks smaller than any Nokia’s standard phone. But still, this phone is pretty elegant if you can have a hold of this phone in your hands

Interface and Functionality

Although this phone can display a greater TFT, 65K colors in the solid 240 x 320 pixels screen resolution, all the features of this phone are huge let down for all the users. As a starter, this phone doesn’t support external memory and only provides 4 “MB” in internal memory.

The Weaknesses

Well, if we look at the whole design of this phone, it is obviously Nokia wants to deliver this phone to the users as a mini sized "multimedia" cell phone. But to be honest, with the support only 4 MB in internal memory, users will never be able to insert many multimedia stuff on this phone, right?

The other “let downs” that being provided by Nokia on this phone are no 3G network, no WLAN, no Infrared, no USB port, no GPS and no 3.5mm headphone jack (only 2.4mm audio jack).

Phone Specification

Even though this phone features some standard equipment such as Bluetooth, 1.3 MP camera, Stereo radio FM, Loudspeaker and Java MIDP 2.1, again, the absent of external memory of this phone really makes this phone look like a simple elegant crappy phone. It simply doesn’t promise you anything on the further usages.

Battery Life

Nokia 7100 Super Nova is believed can last more than 360 hours in stand-by mode and 3 hours and 30 min in talk time mode.Though it doesn't last longer when making or receiving a call, it still provides great battery life in stand-by mode.

Conclusion

Bottom line, this phone surely lacks of everything if we compare it to other device at the same price range. It doesn't have 3G network, WLAN, Infrared, USB port, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack (only 2.4mm audio jack) and it doesn't support external memory, providing only 4MB in internal memory. What a shame although it still has 1.3 MP camera on the back.

But if you are one of those people who only use phone solely just to make a call or do text messaging, Nokia 7100 super nova can be your destination. Nokia 7100 is sold in the market with 3 different case covers from Jelly red, Fresh blue, Black. So you can just pick you favorite color and grasp this phone.
