Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman doesn’t feel too heavy, even when your hands is sweating, this phone still feels stiff in grasp. This can be normal because the dimension of this phone, which is small and compact, is pretty flexible to put at anywhere place. Interface and Functionality
The home screen display on this proprietary OS-based phone looks pretty similar with the other Sony Ericsson Android-based smart phones. In the simpler words, Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is an Android look alike phone.
Camera
Although the manufacture wants this phone to target the segmented music market, it doesn’t mean that Sony Ericsson will sacrifice the camera quality of this phone. Even though the quality of its camera itself is not really optimum, the aspect is still necessary for those of you who love taking photos in your spare times. This phone also offers you the feature that allows you to share your photos to the social media.
Multimedia and Entertainment
On the audio aspect, this phone can be considered as good in offering wide variety of music dedicated features. No wonder to that, because this phone is specifically created by the manufacture as music cell phone. Besides the radio and audio recording, Mix Walkman has also been equipped with some standard features from the manufacture itself. The other great thing is the karaoke feature that has been installed to this phone that allows you to sing along with your favorite song and then record it as a final audio file.
It’s also not necessary for you to download song that has a karaoke character because even with a normal song from your music collection, you can still use it for the karaoke feature. Beside of that, the feature called ZAP is the feature that allows you to listen to some cut-off songs inside your phone, whether in internal memory or microSD card.
Although all of these features seem not really satisfying and far from perfect, at least those prominent features can elevate the whole quality of Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman to the next level. Moreover, with the provided dual speaker, listening music without the headphone will be a great experience for users.
Unfortunately, its superior quality on the audio sector is not followed by the interesting quality of its video features. Appears patch up, it looks like the video aspect is only the complement for this phone.
For video recording, users are provided with the QVGA quality of video that for sure can give a much better quality video for the users. Unfortunately, the only compatible video format for this phone is 3GP or any other formats in the same class.
Browser
For internet browsing activities, you will be offered with WAP quality browser, which of course will be fully optimized when viewing WAP-based web page in mobile version.
User Opinions
- It’s easy to use, but we cannot send any video via Bluetooth, we cannot explore external memory by using the phone. The battery lie is bad. The overall performance is only 60% good.
- This phone hangs after you connect it with the Media Go, no File Manager, Sound Quality is average unlike any Walkman series, Zooming is only available in video mode, Internet speed is also average.
- Flash content doesn’t work in browser
Conclusion
Bottom line, as a new music cell phone, Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is still a good choice. Moreover, since the price of this phone is considered affordable for users. Offering many awesome features, the release of this phone to the market can bring a fresh air for the development of music dedicated cell phones in the future.
