Many sea divers or swimmers out there have dedicated their life mostly under the deep blue sea. Either because that is their real job or just a hobby, these people found themselves to be more valuable when they spend their entire day under the water. Therefore, it automatically creates the needs for them to have a really simple device that can be so reliable to connect to other people on the surface when they are still diving at the bottom of the sea. Luckily, Samsung has the right device for them and it’s called
Samsung Mobile B2100
.
Design
At a glance, Samsung Mobile B2100 looks very simple on the outside
. The most prominent element that appears on the front side of this phone is the red trimming that wraps up only the left and right sides of device. This red trimming also links together from the left side to the upper back cover and ended to the right position. The overall impression of the whole design of Samsung Mobile B2100 is that this phone looks well integrated, especially with its black case cover.
On the top of this phone, there is a kern side that seems like a small antenna or something. This element really makes this phone look more like a sea gadget.
There is also the flash light on the top position of this phone, which can be turned on with a dedicated flash light button on the left side. The flash light will surely be useful when you’re using this phone in the darker area under the sea.
On the left side, there are volume buttons alongside the dedicated flash light button. On the right side, there is only one element that can be found, the charging port, which is protected with plastic cover and can be opened with your finger nails.
Shock, Water and Dust Resistant
As I said earlier, Samsung Mobile B2100 could be a useful and suitable gadget for sea divers or swimmers out there that mostly spend their entire day under the water. Well, it’s not just an opinion or random guess. As a matter of fact, this phone has been injected by the vendor with 3 cool capabilities. And they are: Shock, Water and Dust resistant which are supported with IP57 certificate.
Beside of that, the core material of this phone uses an anti-shock material called urethane, which makes this phone powerful and tough from any sudden or shock movement. And the great thing about this phone is that this phone can work under the sea up to 1 meter in 30 minutes time frame.
So surely, many sea divers or swimmers out there can be helped a lot with this device in order to do their job more efficiently and also conveniently under the water.
Interface and Functionality
Since this phone is produced by the vendor as a water gadget, then the 1.77 inch screen of this phone doesn’t have higher specs. With the support of TFT 256 colors in the screen depth of 120x160 pixels, the user interface looks really simple and it’s not really interesting to talk about. So let’s move on to the next part, the internal storage.
Data Storage
Interestingly, for such a simple gadget, this phone has been equipped with 7MB internal memory with the support of microSD up to 8GB on upgrade. But I honestly think that this phone doesn’t really need this huge storage, since users will use it mostly as the device to communicate, to look further in the dark environment (with its flash light) or maybe to snap bunch of beautiful findings under the sea. However, I’m really pleased with this huge storage, allowing users to insert more media files inside of the phone.
Features
Samsung Mobile B2100 comes with some standard features, such as: Bluetooth, USB, Stereo FM radio, Java MIDP 2.0 and many more. Not to mention, this phone has also been provided with Noise cancellation with dedicated microphone.
Conclusion
Bottom line, Samsung Mobile B2100 is rolled out to the market solely as a simple and casual cell phone that is specifically made for people that most of the times will use it as communication device under the water.
However, I honestly thought that it could have been better if Samsung Mobile B2100 had been equipped with higher camera capability than just a 1.3MP camera, since there are many beautiful things in the deep blue sea that can be snapped with the camera of this phone. Unfortunately, the 1.3MP camera is not enough and cannot give the best quality of photos to the users, although it still has a camera flash support.
So in conclusion, if right now you’re looking for a low-price communication device in the water environment, this phone could be a pretty good choice. But if you have more budget, the other Samsung phone called Samsung Galaxy Xcover can be the better choice, because this phone has: 16M colors capacitive touch screen, 3.65 inches screen, 3.2 MP camera, LED Flash, Android OS Gingerbread, WiFi, GPS and many more.
