Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman: The Cons of This Phone

Rolled out to the cell phone market as a cheap touch screen device,

Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman brings its already established Walkman brand to this series. Powered by an 800MHz processor, which is higher than some of Android phones around the market, this phone is still not that impressive enough, especially on the performance aspect.

If on the previous post, you’ve already seen all the good side of Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman, then on the list below, I want to show you how this phone looks like in realities. This time, I’m about to uncover to you the cons of having Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman in your hand. Well, here they are!

Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman: The Cons of This Phone

1. It Doesn’t Have a Smooth and Fast User Interface

Although it has become the fact that Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is already powered by 800MHz processor, which is higher than some of Android phones out there, such as: Xperia X8, Xperia X10 Mini, Xperia X10 Mini PRO, however, in the real implementation, the user interface will show you the otherwise.

When it comes to user interface, then there is no chance this phone can beat the user interface of those Android phones above. In realities, sliding the screen of this phone to the left or right doesn’t give you a smooth performance, and every thing looks in a cut process. So basically, the User Interface of Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is not the same thing you see on Xperia X8, which has a really fluid and fast user interface. Maybe it’s because of the low 64 MB RAM on this device.

2. It’s not an Android Device

Even though this phone is a touch screen phone, powered by 800MHz processor, the fact that it doesn’t use Android OS can be the biggest let down to the users. It’s like becoming a minority in one community, where many of your friends are using Android device and you’re not.

3. Small Range of Supported Apps

Knowing that this phone is not injected with Android OS, only proprietary OS, it’s gonna make it difficult to users to get the latest updates regarding newest applications or games around the app market for this phone. So It’s not like Android phones that until now can still taste the experience of having many new great games that can be downloaded on Google Play, having Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman can be pretty useless in the long run if you don’t get the chance to play many awesome 3D games, just like on Android phones.

4. It Doesn’t Have Built-in File Manager

Some users of this phone experience that this phone is not equipped with built-in file manager. Well, it can be another problem for you if you don’t have a simply basic tool like this on your phone. You will find a lot of trouble to manage your files, photos, documents, songs, videos, or anything on this phone in the tidy order.

5. Average Camera and Video Quality

It’s too bad that the good music capability of this phone is not followed by a good quality of camera and video. As a touch screen device, powered by 800MHz processor, this phone is only armed by a mediocre 3.15MP camera, which brings mediocre quality of photos and videos in the final outputs.

Conclusion

So yeah, those are the cons of Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman that hopefully can help you decide whether to buy this phone or not. I think the biggest disappointments of this phone are the slow user interface and the injection of proprietary OS on this phone, which leads users to become the part of small community. And the development of supported apps for this phone will be so much slower than other platforms, although Java-based apps can still be played on this phone.

So what is our final decision? Do you still want to buy this phone? Or maybe you want to find other phones that have much better specs than this phone? If so, you can check out this article to get another great alternative for Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman.
