But apparently, the one that is already bored seeing their battle over some ridiculous patent infringements is actually the court itself. Through the judge Lucy Koh of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, Apple and Samsung have been suggested by the court to meet up and sit together in one room in order to make some kind of deal or new settlement that later will solve their problems of patent infringements in the future. The judge Lucy Koh even gives advice that both sides send their highest authorities, their CEOs, to the court room.
Actually, what makes this case interesting is that even though Apple is the one who begins the battle with Samsung, surprisingly, most spare parts that are used to make and assemble the iPhones and iPads, such as A5 and A5X processors, are actually produced and supplied by Samsung itself, which also takes role as equipment manufacturer for smartphones and other devices, besides as a cell phone vendor.

Samsung Beats Apple as The Biggest Market Share Gainer in Mobile Phone Industry, According to IDC
In the last few months, the world of mobile phone has been seeing such a tight competition between Apple and Samsung and both of them are still doing a 2 horse race in order to grasp the biggest market share in this industry. Samsung with its pride, Samsung GALAXY S II and Apple with its iPhone 4S, still remain the strongest smartphones that control most of the sales in the market. However, the one that just won the first round of this 2 horse competition apparently was Samsung, which had successfully grabbed the crown form Apple as the current biggest gainer of market share in cell phone industry.
According to 2 separate reports, Today Research firm IDC and mobile analyst firm Juniper Research, they both just gave a “stab in the heart” for Apple with their current reports that showed Samsung got the bigger share in the market than Apple. IDC just estimated that in the first quarter of 2012 (Q1), Samsung has managed to ship around 42.2 million smartphones, which sees the significant increase to almost 267% from the previous 11.5 million units sold in the first quarter last year. While Apple only managed to mark around 35.1 million smartphones in the same quarter in 2012.
The report from IDC above won’t at all look too subjective because the other mobile analyst firm Juniper Research also reported almost similar numbers with IDC just posted on its report, where Samsung being so powerful in the market and saw them ship 46.9 million of smartphones to the market demands, while Apple marked only 35.1 million shipped smartphones, which is the same exact number that IDC reported.
Anyway, with these estimation reports, it shows that Samsung also just grabbed the crown from the long time leader in this industry, Nokia, as the world’s top mobile phone vendor. So congrats Samsung!!
