According to an unnamed official from Samsung that just passed the report to Korea Economic Daily, Samsung GALAXY S III just reached 9 million amounts of preorders. Amazingly, it only took less than a month for this phone to surpass that number, while the predecessor, Samsung GALAXY S II needed almost 10 months to finally hit the 20 million units sold. This just shows that what every one has been expecting since few months ago will come to reality.
Compared to the Samsung GALAXY S and Samsung GALAXY S II, this latest GALAXY model has much more impressive number of preorder than those 2 predecessors, where Samsung GALAXY S only managed to hit around 1 million units preordered when it was announced, while the Samsung GALAXY S II only reached 3 million units preordered.
With the release of Samsung GALAXY S III is still less than 2 week from now (i.e., May 30th), then the preorder number might increase even further. And for Apple, this means war. Since the Samsung GALAXY S III reportedly is designed based on the suggestions of Samsung’s lawyers in order to avoid Apple “design patent” lawsuits, then it will be a fair war for those 2 juggernauts to compete in the market.
And of course, it will become much harder for Apple to find new materials for its next lawsuit adventure against Samsung because the design of Samsung GALAXY S III doesn’t look like iPhone.
