Will Amazon Make 10.1-inch "Cheapest Tablet PC" Kindle Fire, Instead of 8.9 inches?

As many of you know, Kindle Fire has been the top leader in Android tablet market since it was released at Amazon, controlling almost half of the entire share in this market. This Amazon’s home made tablet is also the most popular and the top selling item on Electronic section at Amazon. So there is no doubt that the boardroom at Apple headquarter might see this cheapest tablet PC as a possible threat for iPad in the future because some analysts predict that the collaboration of Android tablets, including Kindle Fire, can eventually bring triumph for Android over iPad’s market share in the year of 2015 (that’s based on the analyst’s forecast, not mine).

So that’s why, in order to counter attack this threat, Apple has been preparing several new devices in the upcoming months, which one of them is believed to be an iPad Mini with 7.85 inch screen, the almost similar screen size that is adopted on Kindle Fire, a cheapest tablet PC from Amazon (i.e., 7 inches).

Apple's iPad
But apparently, Amazon doesn’t want to get carried away by its popular cheapest tablet pc and rest its gear in competition. This online retailer is ready to bring another challenger for those Apple’s new devices. After being reported wants to bring a new Kindle Fire with bigger screen than the original Kindle Fire, allegedly 8.9 inches, it looks like, Amazon decides to change the course of its direction by bringing much much bigger Kindle Fire, which will adopt 10.1 inch screen, instead of 8.9 inches.

According to Reuters, instead of producing 8.9 inch Kindle Fire, it appears to be that Amazon will leave that project and focus on making the 10.1 inch Kindle Fire. This surely increase the speculation that Amazon does really have intention or “secret” goal, which is to compete with iPad, instead of just being the king in Android tablet market.

Kindle Fire
Seeing the potential of this new Kindle Fire tablet, especially when the original Kindle Fire has become the most popular cheapest tablet pc in Android market, then there is a huge possibility that this Amazon tablet could eventually be a future threat for iPad because the best selling point of Kindle Fire is of course its cheap price tag.

Can you imagine that by paying only $199, you can get a great quality Android tablet that is not only capable of handling many high sophisticated games and apps, but also has a powerful battery life (You can ask many Kindle Fire users out there, and trust me, they will agree with this statement).

Anyway, this 10.1-inch Kindle Fire is planned to launch in the third quarter of 2012. There is no exact price detail of this tablet yet, but seeing the history of Kindle Fire as a cheapest tablet pc, then I don’t think Amazon would have any intention to change the “cheap price tag” aspect on its creation, since it’s the best selling point of this tablet.
