GALAXY Nexus Sold on Google Play Store and Will the First Phone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Installed

In the recent weeks, we’ve been hearing a lot, okay, not that a lot, I mean some rumors and speculations regarding the latest installment of Android OS, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean that is predicted will be injected on Google Nexus 7 tablet, you know, a brand new “hasn’t been released yet” Google home-made tablet that later will be assembled by Asus and it has Tegra 3 chip in it, which is believed will arrive in the near future, specifically in December according to Google’s Eric Schmidt.

And some also believe that this Jelly Bean will be just like Android Honeycomb that can only be found on Android tablets, not smartphones. But apparently, the latest issue about

“ Android Jelly Bean only for tablets” is about to get tackled by the release of GALAXY Nexus on Google Play Store

.

Recently, Google Play Store has just updated its listing of

GALAXY Nexus, the GSM model, and surprisingly, this smartphone is stated will soon be the first phone comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean installed

This actually comes so surprising because besides the update between Android Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich still finds many obstacles and takes really long time among Android device manufacturers, many people also believe that Android Jelly Bean will only be found on recent Android tablets, not smartphones.

Interestingly, on that Google Play Store page, there is an image in the checkout area that reveals GALAXY Nexus phone using a new background and a glassy Google search widget.

This actually can be quite interesting because we’ve already known that GALAXY Nexus used to be popular as the first smartphone that came with Android Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed when it made its first debut on smartphone market. And now, this oldie Android smartphone once again will get special treatment from Google by becoming the first device with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Anyway, for your information, besides providing apps and games for Android devices, Google Play Store also offers the real “tangible” devices as the GALAXY Nexus became the first device that being offered on Google Play Store on device section, with more devices such as: smartphones, tablets (allegedly Google Nexus tablets and 5 new Google Nexus smartphones) and accessories will also be available soon on Google Play Store.
