mobile games and Blackberry phones
.For those of you who like playing games on smartphone, then you probably know the one called “Gameloft”, a top leading game publisher for mobile phones (i.e., smartphones, feature phones). Recently,
Gameloft just announced that it was in the preparation to launch several games for Blackberry 10 platform
. Interestingly, some of the games that will be rolled out on this platform are new titles from this publisher. The games like Ice Age Village, Shark Dash and the most anticipated blockbuster FPS game called N.O.V.A 3 have just been released a while ago. However, Gameloft is also planning to port older titles to this Blackberry 10. Oregon Trail: American Settler is one of them.
Actually Gameloft also had a similar partnership with other manufacturers, and it was with LG and Mediatek, which also to launch several games specifically for those platforms.
With Gameloft launching games for Blackberry 10, this can be a great sign that RIM, the one that makes Blackberry phones, is now taking the competition between Apple’s iOS, Android and Windows Phone more seriously this time. Well, that’s because those platforms, especially Android and iOS have a rich collection of apps and games on its app market (i.e., Google Play Store and App Store), while Windows Phone is still trying to increase the app collection in its marketplace (which currently just surpassed the 90.000 app mark).
And with the new platform, Blackberry 10, is about to come out later this year, RIM is now ready to compete again with those platforms and grasp its missing market share in this industry.

. With EA Mobile together, they are considered really active in delivering games, great quality ones, for cell phones (i.e., smartphones, feature phones) more than other publisher in this industry. So that’s why, what they’ve been planting since few years ago in this industry has finally come to fruition.According to report, Gameloft just managed to generate around EUR 44.8 million through the game sales during the first quarter of 2012. This means, the revenue for
Gameloft increases 14% from the previous year
.The most notably aspect that leads Gameloft to this impressive result is basically from Gameloft’s recent strategy to attach free games with in-app purchases, which are called as freemium apps. Currently, Gameloft already manages to reach 45 million active users on its freemium games. Besides from that freemium strategy, Gameloft generates other revenues also from advertising.
With the blockbuster game, NOVA 3, has just been launched a while ago, and also other new popular titles like Shark Dash and Ice Age Village, the revenue of Gameloft is predicted will continue to grow further in the next quarter.
