Android Ice Cream Sandwich
, now things are starting to get better and better, especially for Android users because now the Ice Cream Sandwich has spread out widely to more Android devices around the market, that sees around 7.1% of Android devices have been successfully injected with ICS.Compared to the result of the previous month, which was only 4.9% of
Android devices that is installed with Ice Cream Sandwich
, the recent finding shows that Android developers and especially the manufacturers are really serious in rallying this ICS campaign to the entire Android community, just like what Sony Mobile has done recently to bring the ICS updates to its latest Xperia devices and tablets (e.g., Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, Neo V, Arc S, Xperia S, Sony Tablet S and Tablet P, etc), with the exception of Xperia Play that will not get the ICS in the future.Meanwhile, the other generations of Android, like Donut, Éclair, Froyo and Honeycomb, still make a small contribution on the older Android gadgets, with Froyo holding the bigger 19.1% percentage, followed by Donut and Éclair together that injects 6.1% of Android devices and Honeycomb sporting around 2.7% of the entire Android community, which mostly tablets.
The reason why there is a significant boost of Android devices injected with ICS is because some manufacturers’ new launches are mostly pre-installed with Ice Cream Sandwich OS in the first place, like HTC’s newest pride, HTC One series or new Samsung GALAXY army like Samsung GALAXY S III and Samsung GALAXY Nexus.
However, with the recent efforts from other vendors to release iCS updates for their older Android devices, the ICS percentage could probably increase further in the upcoming future.
