The most anticipated Tegra 3 quad-core tablet of this year, or should I say, 16-core chip tablet from Google that is made by Asus.
The
Google Nexus 7
, has finally been unveiled yesterday at the Google I/O conference. And just like what the headline says, this tablet brings awesomeness, and it’s a lot of awesomeness. The first thing that comes to mind when finally seeing the
Google Nexus 7 at the first time is that this tablet comes with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed
just like what we thought before. And the Jelly Bean itself is perfection. It fixes all the problems and bugs in the previous Android variant, Ice cream Sandwich, and it also brings some new improvements and enhancements especially to the whole performance of the Android device.| The super fast Tegra 3 tablet, Google Nexus 7 |
Anyway, besides the injection of “super power” Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Google Nexus 7 also comes with some decent jaw-dropping specs that we’ve already known before (thanks to the floating rumors by the way).
Google Nexus 7, as we all know, is assembled by Asus. For the performance sector of this tablet, it has 1GB or RAM, 1.3GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 12-core nVidia Geforce GPU, so it makes it 16-core chip in total. Amazing!!
And for the screen aspect, Google Nexus 7 has a 7-inch IPS LCD display with the screen resolution of 1280x800 pixels and pixel density 216 ppi. Its screen itself is capacitive and of course, it’s equipped with multi touch input method for sure.
How about the fun and entertainment aspect? Well, as a starter, Google Nexus 7 has Chrome pre-installed as the default web browser on this tablet for your internet surfing needs, it has 1.2MP front-facing camera for doing video chats, it doesn’t have rear-facing camera, it has GPS, NFC, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and thanks to the huge 4325 mAh battery, Google Nexus 7 was stated by Google itself could survive for around 9 hours for video playback and 300 hours in stand-by mode. Impressive!!
So what else that haven’t been uncovered yet? Oh yeah, not to mention, this Google Nexus 7 tablet will come in 2 variants, the 8GB and 16GG, both are in WiFi models only. However, the microSD card slot is NOT supported on this tablet, so you cannot expand the storage.
Google Nexus 7 is expected to arrive this mid-July in the hands of customers and can now be pre-ordered via Google Play Store for only $199 for the 8GB and $250 for the 16GB. I would suggest you to pick up the 16GB instead because the price is not that far from the 8GB model and it has much bigger storage for sure. And for your information, the 8GB only gives you 5.92GB of free storage and it doesn’t support expandable card slot (the 16GB model also doesn't support microSD slot).
Anyway, as a bonus from the generous Google, once the Google Nexus 7 arrives safely at your home, you will also get a FREE $25 of Google Play gift card, which you can spend it to buy contents on Google Play Store. Sweet!!
So if you cannot wait for much longer to finally get a hold of this tablet, be sure to pre-order Google Nexus 7 at Google Play Store. Unfortunately, for now, the countries that are eligible to pre-order the Google Nexus 7 are U.S., Canada, UK, and Australia. But hopefully, Google Nexus 7 will arrive soon in other regions.
