Sony Joins Other OEMs as the Display Supplier Chip for the Next iPhone

In the upcoming months, Apple will be one of the busiest companies on this earth because Apple reportedly will launch several new devices to the gadget markets.

The next iPhone 5 or the 6th generation of iPhone

becomes the device that really consumes the most energy and concentration of Apple because people have been expecting that this device will be totally different than the previous series, where it will have much bigger screen, much tougher processor, much better design and so on and so forth.

Anyway,

besides being so busy in planning and designing the new iPhone

, Apple has also been made busy in finding the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to supply some important components of its new pride creation, iPhone 5.

Sony Joins Other OEMs as the Display Supplier Chip for the Next iPhoneAs it’s been reported a couple of weeks ago, the next iPhone is planned will use the “in-cell” screen that will make this phone even thinner than before. Therefore, in order to handle the future demands of the next iPhone, which absolutely will be really huge, Apple needs to maintain the supply of that “in-cell” equipment as many as possible, which means Apple will need more equipment manufacturers to support the production of the next iPhone.

After reaching the agreements with Sharp Corp, LG Display Co and Toshiba Mobile Display as the supplier of “in-cell” display component for that next iPhone production, apparently, Apple still needs one more supplier for that “special” equipment.

According to new reports, the boardroom of Apple has decided to point their finger to Sony as the next OEM for supplying that important component. Interestingly, Sony itself has been working lately for “in-cell” production since February and it’s now planned to ramp-up manufacturing.

Seeing that the next iPhone 5 will definitely create huge demands in the smartphone market, then this reports clearly show how Apple doesn’t want to let anything bad like supply shortage disrupt the whole production of the next iPhone. Therefore, grouping several equipment suppliers is the best strategy to avoid that unexpected unwanted possibility.
