Google Nexus 7 Can Now be Pre-ordered at GameStop, Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples and UK's Currys

At Google I/O conference held few days ago, Google through Hugo Barra told audience that

Google Nexus 7 could be pre-ordered directly on Google Play Store

, but only for those living in the US, Canada, UK and Australia, with the 8GB variant was priced for $199, while the 16GB cost $249. And the tablet itself, according to Google, would start shipping in mid July. Few days have passed and now the Nexus 7 can be pre-ordered not only Google Play Store, but some retailers also start accepting preorders for this Tegra 3 quad-core tablet.

The first one that offered Google Nexus 7 is GameStop

. GameStop is actually the place to trade unused and old video games, but apparently, with Google Nexus 7, GameStop wants to try to expand its wings of business into much larger area, in device buying and selling business too. Interestingly, unlike on Google Play Store, on GameStop, you can bring any unused items like old video games, hardware, software, iPhones, iPads or any Android tablet, into the store, and GameStop will value your stuff for 30%.

Besides on Google Play Store, Nexus 7 Can also be Pre-ordered at GameStop, Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples and CurrysAnd then, that 30% value that is given by GameStop to your items, can be used later to reduce the total price of Google Nexus 7, while the remaining price must be paid with cash. Isn’t that cool, huh?

Anyway, GameStop also receives Android tablets or iDevices as trade. The value of your items then will depend on the model, memory size and physical condition of your items.

The second place where you can pre-order your very own Google Nexus 7 is at the retailer named Staples.

The offerings of Google Nexus 7 at Staples are actually similar with Google’s offerings, $199 for the 8GB model and $249 for the 16GB variant, with FREE $25 Google Play Store gift card is also given to you plus a free copy of Transformer: Dark of the moon. The tablet itself is said will start shipping between July 12th and July 17th for Staples’ customers. Interestingly, many customers who pre-ordered Google Nexus 7 at Staples also purchased one special item, which weirdly was a Folgers Classic Roast Ground Coffee.

The third place to pre-order the Nexus 7 tablet is at 2 Canadian retailers, Best Buy or Future Shop. However, unlike on Google Play Store, the 16GB version of this tablet costs $259.99 at Best Buy, which is $10 more expensive than the standard price at Google Play Store. According to Best Buy, the tablet is expected to arrive in its warehouse around August 10 next month.

The latest place that starts accepting the preorders of Google Nexus 7 is at UK’s retailer named “Currys”. At this retailer, the 16GB model costs around £ 199.99 or equal to $309, but the 16GB variant is the only one that being offered at Currys, for now. So for those of you who are living in the UK, if you want to snatch the 8GB variant of Nexus 7, the only place you need to visit is at Google Play Store, and it costs around £ 159 GBP or equal to $246. According to Currys, the tablet itself is expected to start shipping on July 19th.

So there you go, some spots you need to check out if you intend to pre-order the Google Nexus 7. Of course, you must be living in the UK, US, Canada or Australia to be able to pre-order this Tegra 3 quad-core-equipped tablet. Hopefully, by the end of July, when everyone living in the US, Canada, UK and Australia has received the tablet, Google will start opening the preorder doors for other customers in other regions.
