Samsung GALAXY Nexus
.The reason of why this phone is so much cooler than any Android device around the market is because
Samsung GALAXY Nexus always gets the best treatment from Google
, which is proved by how this phone is the first Android phone on this planet that will get the Jelly Bean update. And the other reason of its “cooler” aspect is because now on Verizon, you can buy this phone for only $99 on 2-year contract, thanks to price dropped from $149.But the question that comes to mind is, why at the sudden, Verizon decided to price cut this awesome device to almost $99 from the previous price tag “$149” (while the original price in December for this device was $299).
That question might remain unanswered. But some source believe that the reason behind Verizon’s decision to slice the price of GALAXY Nexus is because Google is expected will announce some new Nexus devices in the coming months, possibly in September or October.
Actually, the rumor concerning the arrival of some new Nexus devices, allegedly 5 new Nexus devices, has been floating up to the surface in some months ago. According to that rumor, those 5 new Nexus smartphones would be made by some different manufacturers (would likely be Samsung and HTC).
Weirdly, if you can get the unlocked Samsung GALAXY Nexus without contract whatsoever for only $349 on Google Play Store, on Verizon itself, the unlocked variant of this device is still offered at “up in the sky” price range, for $649, also without a contract.
So if you have been really eager to buy this phone since long time ago, but always couldn’t afford it, then this might be your best shot.
Check out Samsung GALAXY Nexus on Verizon where it’s now on special price for only $99 with 2-year contract.

Samsung GALAXY Nexus HSPA + Finally Gets the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
If the owners of Android devices mostly are still having a hard time in getting the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade to their devices, then the situation is completely different with the owners of Samsung GALAXY Nexus. As many people have already known before, at I/O conference held few weeks ago, Google had promised that the first Android smartphone that would exclusively get the
Android Jelly Bean update was Samsung GALAXY Nexus
. Apparently, Google keeps its promise.Recently, the
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has just been rolled out by Google for the owners of Samsung GALAXY Nexus
. Unfortunately, for now, this Jelly Bean update will only be available for the International version of GALAXY Nexus that runs the HSPA +, which means, the one that was purchased through Google Play Store. So for those using the Verizon’s LTE variant, this Jelly Bean update is NOT for you.Interestingly, despite the patent lawsuit that was blasted by Apple and granted by Judge Koh for Google and Samsung to remove the local search of universal search feature on Samsung GALAXY Nexus because it has infringed Apple’s patent, this Jelly Bean update still comes with that local search.
So with this Jelly Bean update installed on your GALAXY Nexus, you can still search any file, app or feature inside your device by using the local search feature on the homescreen, besides to find information on Google on the net of course.
Google stated that after Samsung GALAXY Nexus (International version), those using the CDMA/LTE variant will be the next ones to get the Jelly Bean updates, along with the Samsung GALAXY Nexus S and Motorola Xoom users, as it’s been promised by Google at I/O conference.
So if you’re holding the International model of GALAXY Nexus and still using ICS, then you might want to upgrade your device with this latest Android OS immediately. Many have experienced that the Jelly Bean update really gives many improvements and enhancements to their GALAXY Nexus phone, especially on the performance aspect. It runs extremely fast with Jelly Bean, thanks to Project Butter.
