. With many people have been impatiently waiting to upgrade their old iPhones with the new ones, the arrival of the new iPhone 5 no doubt will create such a massive demands in just a matter of month, or possibly weeks.
Anyway, recently, multiple sources believe that the new iPhone 5 will be ready to launch on September 21st
. This new rumor is actually backed by the recent decision of Verizon Wireless to block staff vacations ahead of September 21st until September 30th, which is so obvious that something “big” is being prepared to announce.Anyway, if September 21st is believed to be the time when the new iPhone 5 is released, then Apple will likely announce the device much sooner than the exact release that, which is possibly on September 12th, 9 days before the release date of the device.
Based on the Apple’s history in rolling out its older devices in the past, usually Apple would take around 9 days or 12 days to announce the device before releasing it to the market. However, under the regime of Tim Cook, many people believe that Apple will stick with the 9 day “announcement-release” plan.
As usual, if there is any worst enemy that is equal to rival Apple, then Samsung is the one we’re talking about. With Apple announcing its pride the new iPhone 5 to the public, then Samsung will have an evil plan to steal Apple’s thunder. And apparently Samsung GALAXY Note 2 will be the one that Samsung will use to ruin Apple’s celebration party.
I know that Samsung is not the same species as the new iPhone 5, since it adopts (allegedly) 5.5 inch display, while the new iPhone 5 will use 4 (or 3.99999) inch screen. However, since Samsung has been the closest rival to Apple in touch screen device making business, then many people will have to agree that Samsung GALAXY Note 2 will be used by Samsung to overshadow, or at least to distract people’s attention from the new iPhone 5.
Anyway, with the Samsung GALAXY Note 2 will likely be announced on 29th of August at IFA 2012 event, then it’s going to be really exciting to see these 2 phone juggernauts elbow each other to get people’s love. Apple Manages to Sell 20.000 iPhone 5s in Russia During the Weekend
Apparently, the recent moderate success that Apple just gained in China with this iPhone 5, also happened in Russia.
Few days ago, we’ve already heard that Apple managed to sell over 2 million units of iPhone 5 during the weekend of its first debut. And that number is not that huge given the fact that China is one the countries that has the largest smartphone market in the world.
Anyway, in Russia, where there are currently around 1.49 million units of smartphones being used by the civilians in that country, Apple just managed to sell around 20.000 units of its latest iPhones during the weekend. Maybe, this number seems not so impressive compared the sold units in China recently. However, since the smartphone owners in Russia is not that big right now, then this result can be considered as a great success for Apple. As a matter of fact, 20.000 units sold of iPhone 5 actually represent almost 40% of imported smartphones in Russia. So kudos to Apple!!
In Russia itself, Apple also goes head-to-head with its biggest rival it ever had, Samsung that has seen its smartphone’s market share increase significantly to around 32.3%, followed by Apple with around 15%.
In this huge country, Nokia also sits in the third position as the third largest phone maker in Russia. Unfortunately, most of Nokia’s market share is filled with its oldie Symbian devices, not the latest Lumia phones. So we will likely see its share decrease much further in the near future.
